SICOM appointed as fibre specialists for new leak-sensing project

has appointed SICOM as dark fibre specialists in a new £1.49m project supported by the . 

Richard’s role is to provide dark fibre in five test areas across the UK from Newcastle to West Wales. He will develop a methodology to locate and commission fibre networks across the UK for leak detection following successful completion of the trial in 2025. 

Richard has a varied career background. After graduating, he spent eight years in civil aviation at organisations such as British Airways before moving into telecommunications. He became Regional Director for South West England for BT Local Business.
